Not everyone grows up to becoming a famous celebrity, artist, actor or actress. But for those us who are there are certain factors in our walk of life that must be taken into accommodation. Not only do our fans know everything about us but cameras and paparazzi are also following our every move. Of course, the celebrity life isn't always a life full of bliss. We must take into consideration how to properly present ourselves when the cameras are on us and when they are off.
There are requirements for every occasion. Appearing on Television and/or a radio broadcast have the same ground rules minus what you wear. A radio program is always witnessed by members of the station's staff and sometimes by a studio audience so what you wear can affect your appearance. You must dress tastefully but ostentatiously in any case. On the other hand, since your not appearing in front of a camera, the style of what you wear, make-up, or jewelry is entirely up to you.

Calling the producer of a television program for advice on what is appropriate to wear is a good idea, but what would be ideal is to watch the program two or three times and then decide on what to wear. Pastel or even dark colors televise better than white - men's shirts as well as women's dresses. Almost all networks have make-up artists but be sure that they know what your role is on the program. Wearing jewelry is perfectly fine, but remember that brilliant stones will be sprayed with wax to dull the glitter, and wax may be difficult to remove, choose wisely when taking jewelry into consideration. Choosing clothing that is most flattering to your face and figure is recommended.

Wearing what is appropriate during the time of day and the type of program would be best. For example, a sports suit on an evening variety show or a low-necked cocktail dress on a morning "quiz" program would seem out of place.

Your voice and manners are both very significant when appearing on TV or radio. The most important thing to remember is that your really a guest in the home of the listener or viewer. Therefore, your manners should be the same as if you were in their houses in person. Your voice should be well-modulated as if you were in the same room with your listener or viewer. Acting naturally in front of the camera or in the studio of the radio broadcast is optimal. When acting naturally you give a sense of ease to your viewer and listener. Last but not least, don't talk down to or patronize your audience. Remember that you are a guest in the homes of people from every walk of life and you cannot possibly know more than each and every one of them.
