Inspiration for Spring 2011 Collection: Rio de Janeiro
I walked into Old Orchard Nordstrom and saw the Zaharoff display and just enjoyed being in the moment; the collection looked spectacular.
I always say inspiration comes in so many forms. When one is judgmental the beauty of the surrounding world gets lost...it's as if judgement becomes a filter. Of course, we were made in physical form, and it's easy to judge or have a critical eye. It actually takes practice and over time become open to your environment.
One of my most favourite cities in the world is Rio de Janeiro. It's such a beautiful city and was the inspiration for my Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. I wanted to take two pieces to show you. The sidewalks in Copacabana Beach is famous and it makes such a huge impression when you are actually there let alone just looking at a picture.

Now with that in mind, here's two pieces on a mannequin, beautiful. Both fabrics are silk and wool, the one on the left is made by Italian mill, Moessmer, and the one of the right is by Italian mill, Campore:
